BUILDING A MEDITATION HABIT

REVIEW

The workshop introduced you to Vijnanahairava, an ancient treatise on 112 ways to meditate.

Vince McCullough was sharing his vast experience and knowledge in this field.

Most of us fail to develop a meditative attitude because we shackle ourselves with restraints of time and form. We think we have to spend an hour a day in a certain environment, concentrating hard, overcoming our pain and boredom. Not so.

There are many techniques of meditation that can be woven into your daily life that are more celebrative and simple. These techniques germinate and nurture the seeds of personal growth that can bring a little more love, peace and wisdom to our lives.

Leveraging Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) to facilitate meditation and clear blockages

A review of the space – energy – focused-attention  relationship

The idea of ONE energy expressed through various forms of thoughts, emotions, and physicality of matter.

The idea of NOW being the time where I am aware, independent of anything else.

This PRESENT moment, being an extension of wholeness, is seen as PRECIOUS.

In withdrawing a limiting value judgment of this moment, I am now included in being

a part of the PRECIOUSNESS of its presence.

In deeming present moment as precious, I am validating my presence as precious too.

The idea of not getting TOO HEAVY – too serious about seeking enlightenment.

Getting silly rather than worried, smiling rather than counting, being playful instead of demanding.

The idea of Intelligent space that has been present timelessly, which serves as a background for all specific expressions of the living energy “Chi”.

The idea of deliberately moving focused attention from specifics,(which are surfaced on this spatial background in the forms of thoughts, emotions, colors, sounds and objects), into formless space.

Learning to perceive the surfaced forms as passing, in the way clouds do over a sky.

Training the mind to see the forms as –ing, process, as a flow of energy, form-ing of energy that flows endlessly from one expression into next and next and next without attaching to anything:

root-ing, tree-ing, eye-ing, ear-ing, breath-ing, smil-ing, look-ing,  earth-ing, sun-ing, cloud-ing, rain-ing…

EFT for fear, doubts and learned disbelief in my ability to liberate myself:

1, physical discomfort while sitting

“Even though I feel uncomfortable … (location), I accept myself and the way I feel.

My feeling is indicating a lack of ease in that area.

I now can move my focus in that specific area to spatial awareness, to feel the space, and its unlimited-ness.

I can remind myself that I am the body and the space at the SAME time! I am both.

J Therefore I can switch my attention back and forth if I want.

In that, I now have options to feel different based on the aim of my focus that I have complete control over!”

2, emotional fogginess

Based on past perception of failing to fulfill expectations others put on me (should be smarter, better, faster…)

“Even though I do not feel good enough to do this well (to excel), I accept myself and how I feel.

I choose to remember that I am here, now and that is all there is. My now is here. This ‘here’ is my now.

Therefore, it is here where the wholeness of my being is.

My power to think – to focus my mind is HERE.

I choose to realize that all suggestion about my capabilities I was given by others BELONG to them, and let them all go for they are irrelevant to who I am here and now.

I am fine the way I am. My meditation is an opportunity to feel good about myself in the present moment, as I am.”

Based on social conditioning of some thoughts systems stating that only few of us are worthy of true enlightenment:

“Even though, I was exposed to ideas that suggest struggle and suffering as a way to experience my wholeness, I accept myself and the fact that I am free to choose what I believe in.

I can enjoy meditating, and have fun envisioning my wholeness being available to me as a real life experience, or I can play hard, and deny this idea of enlightenment to me.

Yes, I have a choice to get heavy or light. The choice is mine!”

Question: “What if everything is going to be well, then what?”

A Morning Thought

I used to live  waiting  until it is all over, not being able to see the value of my presence.

Then I learned to understand the invisible connection to One Source. Now I see value in all that I live. How amazing!

I learned that the body is not the cause of how I feel. If it would be, I would be still feeling the same.

I learned to see that the situations I lived through are not the source of how I feel. It they would be, I would be still feeling the same.

I learned that this world is not the cause of the way I feel too. If it would be, I would be feeling still the same.

I learned that my feelings indicate the present  level of Self-awareness (state of mind) I offer to this world.

Love knowing Itself, loves Itself, negates nothing, resists nothing.
